Erstwilder x Melanie Hava - The Platypus 'Gugula' Brooch*
One of Australia's most mysterious monotreme mammals, the Platypus is a wonder to behold. You may find them hard to spot out in the wild but you can't miss this Platypus 'Gugula' Brooch. This gorgeous and detailed design is a part of the long-awaited collaboration with Aboriginal Artist Melanie Hava. With layered resin and featuring hand-finished details, Melanie's incredible art has been taken off canvas and brought to life as wearable art.

Each piece is made from laser-cut and layered resin, hand assembled, hand painted and released in limited quantities. As all of Erstwilders designs are lovingly glued, assembled and painted by hand there can be fingerprint marks and very slight variations and blemishes from piece to piece. Due to the hand-mixed nature of the resins in these designs, it is also common and normal to find tiny flecks or bubbles in the resin layers. All in all, this just makes each piece as special and unique as you are.
Brooch clasps are made from plated brass.

Please be aware that resin is akin to ceramic and glass and therefore may be damaged if dropped or knocked.
