Meet Charlie!

Welcome to Have You Met Charlie?—the ultimate gift shop where creativity meets joy! Our story began in May 2014 as a humble pop-up shop in Charles Street Plaza. Yep, that's where the name 'Charlie' comes from!

We never imagined our pop-up would become a permanent fixture, but here we are, spreading happiness and laughter every day.

After our successful stint at Charles Street Plaza, Charlie packed up and moved to a more spacious and exciting location in Regent Arcade, where we happily stayed for six wonderful years. But that was just the beginning! We've grown and thrived ever since, evolving into the well-established gift shop we are today.

In July 2020, we ventured into new territory by opening our second shop in the sunny seaside town of Brighton, South Australia. It was an exciting milestone for us! And now, we've made our dreams come true by setting up shop in our dream location—right here in Shop 12 of Adelaide Arcade. Come and explore our two amazing stores!

From the moment we launched, our founder, Lauren Harper, had a vision of curating a collection of amazing items that would appeal to people from all walks of life. We're passionate about supporting independent artists and providing them with a platform to shine in a retail environment.

When you shop with us, you're not only treating yourself to a unique shopping experience, but you're also supporting small businesses and creative minds.While we focus on showcasing the incredible talent of South Australian artists and makers, with around 50% of our products being locally made, we also stock a delightful selection of fun, quirky, and unusual products from across Australia and around the world.

Our team works tirelessly to bring you an ever-evolving range of treasures that will bring smiles to your faces and warmth to your hearts.

Before we sign off, we want to acknowledge that our journey takes place on Kaurna Country, where we are grateful to live and work. We pay our respects to the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia, recognizing their deep connections to the land, sea, and community. We honor the elders past and present and extend our respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
